Capilano Suspension Bridge Park

At the Story Centre where we met the pioneers whose vision shaped Vancouver and Capilano Suspension Bridge

The memorabilia and photos there bring their stories to life.

The Capilano Suspension Bridge is 450 feet (137m) long and 230 feet (70 m) high is reassuringly wobbly since 1889.

Next we headed to Treetops Adventure.  Our adventure begins at the Treehouse and continues on seven suspension bridges through magnificient old growth Douglas-firs.

The Cliffwalk is a suspended walkway along sheer granite cliff faces offer stunning canyon views .

We also tool the Nature's Edge Boardwalk , a tranquil  walk along the edge of the rainforest .

While on Nature's Edge boardwalk, we saw the remains of the 46 ton tree that fell onto the suspension  bridge during a spectacular winter storm in 2006.  The tree snapped in half but the bridge held firm.

A dead log but it is home to many new plants
